Chhapra, Hundreds of people became victims of food poisoning on Tuesday in Kondh Bhagwanpur Khidi Tola of Panapur police station area. On Monday night, people started falling ill after having food at a banquet. People ate rice, lentils and vegetables in Matkor. Some people started having stomachache and vomiting on Tuesday morning after having dinner. Soon the number of victims started increasing. After this there was a stir.
Team called from referral hospital Taraiya
As soon as the local administration got information about food poisoning, preparations were started for investigation. After getting the information, the medical team led by Dr. Kumar Gaurav, in-charge of PSC Panapur, reached the affected village. Here the team started treating the victims. After this, information was also given to the senior officials. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, a team of doctors had to be called from the referral hospital Taraiya as well.
During this, half a dozen ambulances were called from Taraiya, Panapur and Masrak. Sonali Kumari, daughter of Omprakash Singh, daughter of Satish Singh, Ritika Kumari, Rita Devi and Randhir Singh, daughter of Satish Singh, seriously injured, were referred to Chhapra Sadar Hospital for better treatment. While other people are undergoing treatment at Panapur PHC and Referral Hospital Taraiya.
Pesticides can have an effect
Potato, brinjal, spinach and adauri vegetable was made in Matkor. The local people have expressed apprehension that the health may have deteriorated due to poor digestion. On the other hand, some people are expressing apprehension of getting infected due to spraying of insecticides on brinjal and spinach. Here, Panapur Medical Officer Kumar Gaurav said that the health of more than 50 people has deteriorated.
